LiputanIslam.com –  Ini adalah keluarga Mayer Rosner, dari komunitas Lev Tahor, salah satu sekte Yahudi Ultra Orthodox. Bersama keluarganya, ia tinggal di Chatham, Ontario, Kanada.

Di Israel, komunitas ini populer dengan sebutan Yahudi Taliban, lantaran mereka menerapkan aturan berpakaian yang ketat untuk para wanitanya, sebagaimana aturan yang diciptakan oleh Taliban kepada kaum hawa di Afghanistan. Kaum wanita Lev Tahor, mengenakan pakaian yang tertutup berwarna hitam, lengkap dengan hijab.

Komunitas Lev Tahor, oleh berbagai media disebut kaum fundamentalis, menyimpang dan tidak ramah.

“Kelompok ini menunjukkan perilaku pengkultusan, dan penyimpangan agama Yahudi,” kata Frank Dimant, CEO B’nai Brith Kanada, sebuah kelompok advokasi Yahudi.

Bagaimana tanggapan Rosner atas berbagai stigma negatif yang ditujukan kepada kelompoknya? Sekedar informasi, Lev Tahor hingga hari ini masih konsisten menentang keberadaan negara Zionis Israel, yang telah menjajah Palestina puluhan tahun.

“Perjanjian Lama menyatakan bahwa orang-orang Yahudi hidup di pengasingan, kami tidak (boleh) membentuk suatu pemerintahan (negara) maupun  kekuatan militer sampai Mesias datang. Inilah yang dibenci oleh pemerintahan Zionis,“ jelas Rosner, seperti dilansir nationalpost.com, 25 November 2013.

“Mereka selalu berusaha untuk menghancurkan komunitas kami,” paparnya. (ba)
